Six decades of craft, in service of a single day

Miller’s Memorial is the memorial products division of Miller’s Professional Imaging, the largest professional lab organization in the United States. Everything we have learned printing for professional photographers since 1964 — color, paper, binding, and the discipline of a deadline — now serves funeral professionals and the families in their care.

Our story

In 1939, Bill Miller opened a small photography studio in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. From shooting weddings and portraiture to serving as a cinematographer on the front lines of World War II, his passion grew into something larger than he could have imagined. In 1964 he began developing prints for other professional photographers above his studio, and the lab that would become Miller’s was born.

Three generations later, Miller’s serves professionals in all fifty states and Canada, with a reputation built on quality, service, and craftsmanship. Miller’s Memorial carries that same standard to life’s most important moments — memorial pieces made with premium materials and skilled American hands, produced in time for the services that cannot wait.

Six decades, put to work

What does it mean when it’s Tuesday and you have a service on Thursday? We have you covered.

  • Overhead view of a Miller's press operator running a printing press, freshly printed cards stacked at the delivery end

    Made under our own roof

Nothing is outsourced. Every memorial order is printed, bound, and finished by our own staff in Pittsburg, Kansas and Columbia, Missouri.

  • A Miller's employee checking a freshly printed sheet under a task lamp at the inspection bench, a colleague working further down the line

    Inspected by a person

Every order is checked by hand before it ships. A service happens once, and a reprint is not an option — so the check is not automated.

  • A Miller's team member holding a packed order box in the shipping racks, surrounded by orders waiting to go out

    Built for your deadline

Production is scheduled around service dates. Order by 12pm CST and your memorial products ship overnight, the same day they are made.

  • A Miller's team member laughing on the production floor as finished prints fall through the air around her

A real person on the phone

Call 800-835-0603 between 8am and 5pm CST and you reach someone who understands funeral service — not a queue, not a form.

We are in the business of remembering

So it is only right we talk more about the man we remember. Before Miller’s was a lab, it was one photographer: Bill Miller, who opened his studio in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1939 — and when the war came, carried his camera to the front lines for the U.S. Army Signal Corps, making the photographs history would keep.

He came home to Pittsburg and went back to work. In 1964 he began developing prints for other professional photographers above his studio, and the lab he started there grew into the largest professional lab organization in the United States. Every memorial piece we make comes out of the company he built.

Made in our own labs

Every memorial order is produced, inspected, and packaged in one of our two facilities — never outsourced.

Where it all began. Grown from Bill Miller's original East Jefferson Street building through twelve expansions, the Pittsburg lab is now a nearly 170,000-square-foot facility housing printing, cards, mounting and finishing, and wall art — with a staff of roughly 460 during peak season.

Opened in 2001 and expanded in 2021 to nearly 60,000 square feet, the ultra-modern Columbia lab produces albums, books, and press products — the same craft that binds our registration books and binders.

What we will never compromise

A memorial piece should be more than something used during a service — it should be something families keep, cherish, and revisit for generations. That is why we never compromise on product quality, and never on a service deadline. Order by 12pm CST and your memorial products ship overnight, made by people who understand what they are for.
